
national novel writing month begins again tomorrow - let
the annual torrent of words tumble forth from the fingers !
call us lunatics, call us heroes, call us a cab; but if we do
inscribe our 50,000 words in 30 days, call us NOVELISTS!
for today, i warmed up with something hard, a haiku.
you can (and i did) write a hundred thousand words of
self-indulgent prose and call it a novel, trying to tell the
story of a love in vain. that's easy. to say it in seventeen syllables,
that's harder. here's my attempt-
A Warning: (in haiku)
Careful, kissing frogs.
I turned one into a prince,
then he ran. The toad !!!
