i'm coming home to you

steiner street

to be where little cable cars
climb halfway to the stars
the morning fog will chill the air
i don't care ...

i'm coming home to you, san francisco!
your golden sun will shine on me.

tomorrow! signing the lease and coming home to the city by the bay.
the napa valley is a fine place to live. it's been like living in some gorgeous mediterranean
setting for a year, a sojourn in wine country. i'll miss the roads, especially the one
that winds through los carneros. the views from every twist and turn and hilltop
of the coast range, the bay, the wetlands, marin, sonoma, and the napa valley: it all
does still take my breath away, driving the carneros highway from sears point and into to the town of napa.

last night, for the first time this fall, i walked outside and caught the bouquet
of the crush, grapes beginning their fermentation in some nearby winery and
carried through the air to elm st.

it's been nice, it's been very nice; but i've always missed home, i knew i'd be coming
home to san francisco.
